1st Communion

ABOUT

Parents and school/parish catechists form a partnership to help our children have a better understanding and appreciation for the Sacred Mass and a deeper sense of God’s love for them as demonstrated in the death and resurrection of Jesus.

This Sacrament can be celebrated during or after the 2nd grade year. In our Holy Rosary School, students are only prepared in Grade 2. For older children, Sacramental Prep would take place in our parish program.

REQUIREMENTS

Children presented for First Holy Communion must...

• be baptized members of the faithful. 
• be of the age of reason (considered to be age 7) or older.
• have been prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
• be enrolled in one of the following: Our parish religious education program OR Holy Rosary Catholic School OR An approved home school program
• be a registered member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
• have sufficient knowledge and careful preparation, so that they understand the mystery of Christ according to their capacity and are able to receive the body of Christ with faith and devotion. 

FIRST SACRAMENT SCHEDULE

A Sacramental Prep schedule will be given out through our school or parish programs and via the link below. This schedule includes parent meetings, retreats and the ritual celebrations.
