A Message from The Pastor |

Dear Friends,
Next weekend, we here in the United States will be celebrating Independence Day. There is no question that God has blessed this young country with great resources, power and influence in the world order. The Fourth ofJ uly is a time to give thanks to God for our many blessings. It is also a time to reflect upon the many opportunities and advantages that we tend to take for granted. One doesn’t have to look very far to recognize the blessings here that are seldom present in so many other places in our world. You might spend some time in prayer this week in thanks giving and petition that the Lord will continue to bless and guide our people.
Traditionally, the parishes in the Evansville East Cluster have celebrated Mass on Independence Day together at Nativity Parish. In light of the Fourth of July falling on Saturday, each parish will have its own celebration at their respective Saturday Evening Mass.
Christ’s peace,
Fr. Bernie Etienne

Are you interested in becoming Catholic? |
Do you know someone who may be interested? Or maybe you just want to better understand what the Catholic Church teaches. We are looking to begin our next Inquiry Class for people who have questions about the Catholic Faith. Inquiry is the first step of the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) process for people who want to know more and may be interested in converting to Catholicism. It is a time for questions. Everyone is welcome, even those who have been Catholic since birth. There will not be pressure for inquirers to become Catholic. Inquiry Session will be held Wednesday evenings beginning June 24th from 6:30 – 8:00 in the Parish Hall and will run weekly through October. For more information, please call Carol Ann at 477-8923.

The Liturgical Ministries Committee is in need of more ushers for all weekend masses. Men, women and young adults are encouraged to join this ministry. New volunteers will be trained and added to the next ministry schedule. You can specify which service you prefer to attend and, using our on-line schedule site, block out dates you would not be available. Please volunteer to join this great group of dedicated parishioners by contacting Bob Moffett (402-1798, psubob@wowway.com) or the parish office.

Last year Holy Rosary started an Adopt a Spot program to beautify and maintain landscaped and need to be landscaped areas around campus. Several families, classes and organizations have adopted spots. The requirements are very simple: Keep the area planted with appropriate vegetation, water it, weed it, and keep it litter free. We will recognize your efforts with your name on the sign identifying your spot. If interested contact Christine Gilles, 477-8923 in the Parish Office or email cgilles@hrparish.org
