As part of the Diocese of Evansville's Parish Twinning program, Holy Rosary is proud to sponsor Notre Dame de la Nativite, a Catholic parish on the island of La Tortue, Haiti. The money that we have sent to Father Pere Jocelyn is really making a difference to this parish community of 40,000 people. Fr. Jocelyn lives in the rectory close to the main church, but there are four other chapels on the island where he visits weekly to say Mass. The island is approximately 20 miles long. Here are some pictures for you to see what your continuing help and support make possible! Clicking on an image will open a slideshow.

In this picture you can see the coffee beans drying in the sun. Also, Pere Jocelyn can be seen resituating a solar panel that is near the guest house where Rita Torrence stayed during her Feb. 2005 trip. |

| The Sagesse anchored peacefully in the Harbor at Cayon on LaTortue--with a storm approaching. |
This is how all the sand for building arrives: A small boat brings it from some other beach on the island; it is unloaded on the dock; people put the sand into 5 gallon buckets which they carry on their heads and deposit into a pick-up; the pick-up drives up the mountain. |
In this case, the building site is the priest's house that Fr. Jocelyn is trying to build. |

| For the recent catechist formation session, Pere Jocelyn borrowed some mattresses, but everyone had to sleep on the floor. |
